![]() ![]() We had a minute or so to review the menu before our server, Caitlin C., came to welcome us and take our drink orders, so we placed our food order at the same time. As usual when traveling, we shared an entree, this time the Grilled salmon with Tequila Sunburn glaze. The food arrived rather quickly and Caitlin brought along a second plate to facilitate sharing. Everything was cooked to perfection, especially the green beans, which can sometimes be undercooked or mushy.these were just right. We enjoyed the salmon with a salsa topping and also the mashed sweet potatoes with cinnamon. Our appetizer came out quickly and within minutes after we were finished our entree were there.We had a very good experience here and recommend it! Moreīeautiful restaurant. She was very helpful with any questions we asked. From the minute we sat down to the minute we left she was great! Our drinks never were empty. The chocolate island was rich and definitely curbed our sweet tooth. WOW! Visually appealing and it tasted great! And then of course we had to get both desserts….the key lime pie was a perfect balance of sweet and tart. The sriracha aioli to dip in was great! We both chose the buttermilk fried chicken entree. had the yucca mozzarella cheese sticks for an appetizer. I like that it was a variety of Cuban and Jamaican style dishes. They have a great menu with reasonably priced entrees, not overpriced like other reviews mentioned. It has a rustic farmhouse vibe with island accents and music. We had a very good experience here and recommend it! Moreīeautiful restaurant. to many other diners we were given a choice of inside seating or a table on the covered outside patio, and we chose inside. We were greeted and seated promptly, not close. We stumbled upon this place, not available where we live, so with gift cards in hand, we drove across town, using GPS. My wife and I were looking for something different for dinner while traveling through Gainesville. Decor is definitely warehouse dock tropical and a bit noisy, with very little to temper noise, but we will probably be back. When finished, the server punches a few spots on the screen and the bill is presented with self pay by debit or credit and can add the tip and an emailed or printed receipt. Every table has a portable computer screen that they try to entice you to play games for $1.99. And the salad comes with a citrus based balsamic dressing on the side. The shrimp had a spicy mustard dipping sauce. The soup comes with oyster crackers and was a good temperature. Both were served quickly with a friendly server smile. My spouse had crunchy shrimp with a salad. coconut shrimp with the cup of seafood chowder. Pick an entree, and combine with a soup or salad. It has an extensive menu, but we came here for the lunch combos. While doing a medical thing in Gainesville, we needed lunch so headed to this new to us restaurant.
